Elizabeth Agnes Maria Strecker

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Agnes Maria Strecker in Calgary, AB at the Santuari Peter Lougheed Hospice on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at the age of 85 years. Elizabeth was born on January 8, 1929 in Nippern, Germany to Joseph and Berta Nitschke, the second oldest of 9 children. Elizabeth will be in loving memory by her son Karl (Karin), grandchildren; Kevin (Melissa), Robert (Heather), Jennifer (Domenico), great grandchildren; Emily, Claire, Addison, Jackson, Joy and Grace. Elizabeth will be lovingly remembered by her family in Germany, brothers and sisters, Walter, Dorothea, Herbert, Renate, Gerhard, and Baerbel and many nephews and nieces. Elizabeth was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Berta, brother Bernhard, sister Margot, first husband Siegfried Fiebich and second husband Philipp Strecker. Elizabeth will be missed by her family but we rejoice over her presence with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A Graveside Service will be held at Queen’s Park Cemetery 3219- 4 Street N.W., on Friday January 2, 2015 at 12:00 p.m., as well as a Memorial Service will follow at Thornhill Baptist Church, 128 Tache Avenue N.W., Calgary, AB at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers and If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society Alberta 200 – 325 Manning Road N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 9Z9.
