Eva was born in Kangasniemi, Finland where her early life and her family lives were marred by WW II. During the war Eva was separated her from her sisters, lost one of her brothers in the war and worked tirelessly to support her mother throughout the war years.
She decided to come to Canada in 1950 and worked as a nurse at the Red Deer Hospital before meeting her husband one fateful night at a dance. She married our father in 1951 and moved to Calgary a year later.
Eva showed her love and passion best through her incredible cooking and was a master chef and baker. Her cinnamon and homemade breads and Christmas cookies were legendary to those fortunate enough to get some. She loved to sew, crochet and knit, and loved her greenhouse and garden. Her beautiful soul is at rest now in the hands of God.
Eva is predeceased by her husband Tony in 2008, and survived by her three sons, Dave (Deb), Larry (Deb), John, daughter Linda, grandchildren Stephanie (Jay), Breanna (Vince), Eric, David and great-grandson Colter.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 4 Street N.W. Calgary, on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 10:00 a.m.
