Our family is saddened to announce that on the evening of Wednesday, March 13, 2024 Evelyn Louise Watt passed away peacefully, at the age of 91, in High River, Alberta. She was born on December 1, 1932 in Vulcan, Alberta to Oswald and May Watt. Evelyn completed their family joining her sister Doreen on the family farm in Milo, Alberta.
After the family moved to the city and the girls finished their schooling Evelyn enjoyed a lengthy career with the federal government and this gave her the fortunate ability to travel to many places around the world. Evelyn loved travelling, whether it was an African Safari or travels through North America and Europe, she enjoyed it all. She especially loved bus tours that allowed her to see so much more countryside as they travelled through. She loved time with her family as much as her travels and enjoyed many years watching the family expand.
Evelyn was predeceased by her parents Oswald and May, her brother-in-law Larry, niece-in-law Darlene, grand niece and nephew.
Evelyn is survived by her sister Doreen McCool, nephews Harve (Laurie) McCool, and Rod (Corrine) McCool, her niece Beth McCool, grand nephews and nieces Ryan (Ericka), Tamara (Mitch), Dustin, Sarah (Matt), Brittany (Nate), great grandnephew Alex and great grandnieces Selena and Jordan.
A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, tribute donations can be made to the local Salvation Army of your choosing.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Long Term Care in High River for their loving care during her time there.
