Flora Wai-Chu Wong passed away peacefully with family by her side in Calgary, Alberta on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at the age of 92 years. Mrs. Wong was born on August 31, 1929 in Toishan, Kwantung, China. She immigrated to Peru at the age of 27.
In 1956, she married Mr. Jorge Chip Wong and had a family of five. They have two sons; Jorge II and Francisco, and three daughters; Maria (Anthony), Flora and Carmen. Mrs. Wong and her family immigrated to Canada in 1977 and have since lived in Calgary.
Mrs. Wong is lovingly remembered and survived by her five children; four grand-children Andrea (Luke), Joni (Thomas), Jorge III (Kristine), and Sheila (Miguel); and eight great grand-children Lylah, Makena, Anessa, Julian, Toby, Naomi, Theo, and Emmi. She is also survived by her four siblings, Gok-Fung (Fong), Gok-Hay (Sandra), Yim Gee (Wayne), Sek Gee (Ron) and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband and grandson, Nathan.
A Visitation will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, April 17, 2022 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, on Monday, April 18, 2022 at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery, 3219 – 4 Street NW.
