

Florence was born in Treherne, Manitoba on March 4, 1946. She married her childhood sweetheart and best friend Ron Deshayes. They spent 47 wonderful years together traveling the world, including hiking the West Coast Trail off the coast of Vancouver Island, the Anapurna Circuit in Nepal, Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, Machu Picchu in Peru, as well as exploring most of Europe. Florence and Ron spent their winters down South in Palm Springs and Texas, and during this time they enjoyed golfing and hiking.
Florence worked for the Calgary Separate Board of Education at St. Jude elementary school for 24 years. She very much enjoyed golfing, hiking, going to the movies, reading, gardening and spending time with her family.
Florence was preceded in death by her parents Antoinette and Paul Roch, and her father-in-law Albert Deshayes. She is survived by her life-long partner Ron Deshayes; daughter Nadine (Mark) Van Wyk; and son Shawn (Charlotte Dalton) Deshayes. She was a proud grandmother of Safford, Jaxon, Izabella, Ava and Parker. Florence also leaves behind her sisters Simone, Leona (Lionel) Theroux, Odette (Dave) Delipper and one brother Norbert (Lucille) Roch. She also leaves behind her mother-in-law Jean Deshayes, brother-in-law Brian (Cheryl) Deshayes, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to nurse Pam Sweeney, Dr. LeBrie, Dr. Slamich, and the wonderful staff at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
A Memorial Service will be held at Saint Bonaventure Church, (1600 Acadia Drive S.E.) on Friday, September 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
