It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick Neil Jamieson, at his home in Calgary, after a year long battle with cancer. Neil was known and loved by so many, and he will truly be missed. He held his sense of humor right to the very end; a trait that many loved and enjoyed about him. Calgary became home to Neil in 1990 after transferring for work with TransCanada Pipelines; a company he loved and worked for, for over 40 years before retiring in 1999. Neil is lovingly remembered by his wife of 56 years, Carroll Jamieson; his daughters Anne (Mike), Denise, and Lisa; his sister Carol (Barry); his grandchildren Tiffany (Matthew), Jamieson (Jennifer), and Ryan; and his great-grandchildren Alexis, Jaxon, Baylee and Ava. Neil was predeceased by his mother, his father, and his two sisters Muriel and Joyce. His family invites you to attend a service celebrating Neil's life on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church (703 Heritage Drive S.E., Calgary) at 11:00 a.m. with a celebration lunch to follow. Neil's family would like to send a very special thank you to Dr. Cheng and Donna from the Tom Baker Cancer Centre and the entire palliative care team for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations being made in Neil's memory directly to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre (1331 29 Street Northwest, Calgary, AB T2N 4N2) or the South Calgary Palliative Care Team (Attn: South Calgary Palliative Team, 800, 11012 Macleod Trail S.E., Calgary, AB T2J 6A5).
