Born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, George left to pursue higher education at Notre Dame College, Saskatchewan. George met his wife Jan and supported a young family while studying law at the University of Manitoba. A natural lawyer, he moved the family to Calgary, Alberta and into private practice at Howard Mackie, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, where he became a senior partner.
George is survived by his wife, Jan, daughter Lynn, granddaughter Emily, his sisters and the loving Linfit family. He is predeceased by his beloved son Dane.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. George took great delight in the arts and wonders of the world. He also loved animals and took great care of all the strays that crossed his path, whether domestic or wild.
