Mrs. Gisela Liesbeth Schmiemann

November 15, 1947 – October 27, 2017

It is with great sadness that the family of Gisela Schmiemann announces her passing in Calgary, AB on Friday, October 27, 2017 at the age of 69 years. Gisela is lovingly remembered by her two daughters Maggie and Betty(Walter); and her beloved Coco. She is also remembered by her brother Dieter (Rita) and her nephew Michael Kadoke, as well as numerous friends and relatives in Canada and Germany. Gisela was born in Germany and immigrated to Canada with her family at the age of 12 years. Gisela and her husband ran a successful business, 4 Star Bakery, for over 30 years. Gisela will be remembered as a loving and caring mother who was actively involved in her daughters extra-curricular activities. She was also active within the community, volunteering within the Separate School System for over 20 years. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church, 640 19 Avenue N.W. Calgary on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made directly to the Lupus Society of Alberta, 1055 20 Ave NW #202, Calgary, AB T2M 1E7.
