

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gordon Wallace McPhee on Saturday, June 3, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. Gordon will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 45 years, Linda. He also leaves behind five wonderful sons, Dwight (Michelle), Gordon (Gina), Darwin (Christine), Brian (Denyse), Douglas (Sayuri), seven grandchildren, brother Logan (Norma), nieces, nephews and friends. Born in Okotoks, the family moved to the farm east of Innisfail where Gordon worked on the farm, the rigs and later he moved to Calgary. He was a licensed mechanic, electrician and welder. Gordon completed a Master of Education degree and taught at James Fowler High School for 27 years. He had a passion for old cars and trucks. In retirement, he enjoyed golf, travel, Stampeder and Flames games, and spending the winter in Arizona. Family and friends were very important to him. Gordon was predeceased by his parents, Wallace and Jessie, brother Norman, sister Mary and first wife Kathryn. A Celebration of Gordon’s Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society, www.cancer.ca. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca
