On Thursday, November 9, 2017 at her home in Covenant Care St. Teresa’s Place, Hazel Loretta Annie Wickens (nee Long), 91, of Calgary, Alberta passed peacefully to be with the Lord . She was born in Belleisle Creek New Brunswick to the late Arthur and Loretta (Northrup) Long.
Hazel is survived by her sons Arnold and Gene (Joanne), 2 grandchildren, Renee Welch (Spencer), and Chadd Wickens, 2 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Isabella Welch and many nieces, nephews and their children.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 71 years, Rev. E.P. (Ed) Wickens, her sister, Freda Steeves, and 6 brothers, Harold, Ralph, Lawrence, Clarence, John and Wesley Long.
The family would like to thank the staff at Covenant Care St Teresa Place and her doctor, Dr. Kiran Deepminhas, and to her Chaplain, Becky Vink. Also very special thanks to Larry and Sandra Moore, who have been such wonderful friends to Mom and Dad.
