Hector was an active member of the Ascension Parish and St. Mary’s Cathedral choirs, where he loved singing as a psalmist. He served as a lector and member of the Ascension Catholic Church Parish Council, and as an Evangelization Steward in the Open to Spirit to God Prayer Group.
Beyond his devotion to faith, Hector loved life’s adventures. He enjoyed hiking in the mountains, spending time outdoors, riding his motorbike, playing badminton and tennis, and travelling. His passions reflected his active spirit and love of the world around him.
Professionally, Hector built a career in technology, working as a Database Administrator in the Philippines before continuing his career in Canada as an IT network specialist, then a Field Technician with several telecommunications companies.
Above all, Hector was a devoted family man. He was both a disciplinarian and a loving father; a spiritual leader who guided his daughters with faith and wisdom. He gave the world to his daughters and granddaughter, and his love and care for them knew no limits. He was a wonderful husband, always attentive to the well-being and interests of his beloved wife.
Hector will be remembered for his sense of humour and joyfulness, bringing laughter and light to those around him. His journey on this earth was one marked by love, compassion, and an unwavering faith in God. His passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and many more whose lives were touched by him.
He is survived by his wife, Amparito; his daughters, Arielle (Jeremy) and Alyssa; his sister, Liza (Dan); his brother, Homer; and his granddaughter, Athena. Hector was predeceased by his parents, Hope and Loreto Landeta.
