Helen was born in Glasgow, Scotland on March 27, 1941. Helen was a typical Glaswegian woman, her door was always open and her kitchen was never closed. She loved her family more than anything, her loving nature and ability to take care of everyone around her will keep her memory strong.
Helen was a dedicated member of The Salvation Army in Scotland along with the Disabled Veterans Association, Army and Navy Veterans and the Serbian Club in Regina, SK. During this holiday season if you see The Salvation Army Christmas kettle please drop in a toonie in honor of her.
Helen was predeceased by her husband Tommy Cowan and her sister Margaret Shields.
Helen leaves to mourn her children, Heather (Dan) Pollock and Tommy Jr; granddaughters, Lindsay (Donald) Lukinuk, Ashley (Ben) Kornfeld; two great-grandsons Elijah and Nathan; sisters- in- law Margaret (Tony) and Jean; brother in law Laurie and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, family members and cousins in Scotland, UK and Australia.
We will miss her Scottish charm, sense of humor and the best homemade soups, fritter and steak pies.
