Jacek "Jack" Flek

October 12, 1945 - October 13, 2012

Jack passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the age of 67 after a hard fought battle with cancer. He was born in Tarnow, Poland and immigrated to Canada with his family in 1981. Upon arrival, Jack and his family lived in Medicine Hat for 4 years before moving to Calgary where he spent the remainder of his life. Jack ran his own automotive shop and enjoyed spending time outdoors and travelling with his friends and family. He will be remembered for his passion for life and his sense of humour. Jack is survived by his loving wife Maria of 41 years; his sons, Pawel (Shannon) and Steven (Emily), and grandson, Cedar. Jack is also survived by his sister, Danusia (Janusz), and will be fondly remembered by his numerous friends and extended family. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Wednesday, October 17, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Please join the family to celebrate Jack’s life at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL on Thursday, October 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack can be made to the Salvation Army Agape Hospice, 1302 8th Ave NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1B8.
