James Gardell Hogg

When Dell was a boy, he enjoyed spending as much time as he could on his Grandpa Barney’s farm. After graduating high school, he moved to Edmonton and studied architectural technology at NAIT. He worked in various architectural and project management firms in Western Canada before settling in Calgary in 1990. In 1993, he started his own company, the Edge Design, where he enjoyed being his own boss. Two of Dell’s biggest career accomplishments include working at every one of the Alberta Treasury Branch Banks located through the province (over 100) and designing a 25 million dollar luxury estate just outside of Calgary. On May 1st of that same year, Dell married Jamie, and three years later in 1996, was blessed with twins.

Dell was a Jack of all Trades and loved helping other people, listening to music on a sunny day, making “bad” jokes at every possible opportunity, and traveling, especially to Hawaii. He loved his family, his three best friends, more than anything. Dell is survived by his brother Dee, sister Jane, niece Taylor, wife Jamie, and his kiddos Kacy and Abi.

A Celebration of Dell’s Life will be held at Brentview Baptist Church, 3512 Charleswood Dr. NW, Calgary, Alberta on Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
