James Sinclair

Jim is survived by his daughter Lindsay, his son Steven (Charlene) and his grandchildren Zachary (Shelby) and Melina (Jarrad). Jim was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Elinor, in 2015. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend and he will be greatly missed.

Jim was born in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1931. Jim and Elinor met as teenagers in Aberdeen, and emigrated to Canada in 1954, where they married in 1955. Jim’s career moves with the Guardian Insurance Company resulted in them living in Montreal, Halifax and Calgary. Jim was passionate about the Insurance Industry and was well respected by his peers. A Charity Golf Tournament “The Sinclair” was created in his honour, to support Insurance Programs, WICC and other charities close to his heart. Jim retired in 1996 and continued to support the tournament and volunteer in several areas including the Rotary Club.

Cremation has taken place as per Jim’s wishes. A Celebration of Jim’s life will be held in the New Year, details to be confirmed at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a memorial tribute may be made to Alzheimer Society of Calgary.
