Jean Elizabeth Schleppe

Jean Schleppe passed away peacefully at the Peter Lougheed Hospital with her family at her side on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the age of 84 years. She is lovingly remembered by her children Joanne (Merlin), John (Vickilynne) and Bryan; grandchildren Michael (Lucie), Caitlyn (Nathan) and Adam; sister Pat Bush. She was predeceased by her husband Jack and sister Mary Richter. Jean was born in Calgary on December 15, 1933. She worked as a bookkeeper for 40 years starting at Ace Salvage and then joining Budget Rent a Car before working independently for several small automotive and manufacturing shops in Calgary. Jean loved camping and exploring Alberta’s recreational areas with her husband Jack, along with her children and grandchildren. An avid reader, she was also a big fan of figure skating, hockey, curling and football. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4th Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery), on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, www.heartandstroke.com.
