In loving memory of Jean Olga Smandych (nee Lysak), who passed away on Friday, October 28, 2022. Jean was the devoted wife of John Smandych for 72 years and loving mother of Warren (Sue). She was pre-deceased by her daughter Connie.
Jean will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her grandchildren: Lindsay Lacey (Allan) and Denise Smandych (Scott MacWilliams); and great grandchildren: Kai and Jaden Lacey.
Jean was a kind, caring and giving person who always put the needs of her family and friends before her own. She was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life with courage and dignity and was a source of inspiration to us all. Jean will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched.
A huge thank you to the staff of Brentwood Nursing Home for all their wonderful care and dedication.
A Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022, at 2:00 pm at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery).
