Joan passed away in the comfort of her home on Saturday, April 13, 2013. She will be missed by her many friends and lovingly remembered by her children: Larry and wife Gwen, Greg and wife Ellenor, and Lesley; grandchildren: Michael and wife Maria, April (Paul) Irvine, Susan (Tom) Howard, Darryl, Janet (Bruce) Jones, Danielle and Christy; great grandchildren: Lorelle, Tessa, Jade, Taryn, Tom, Corwin, William, and Devon as well as extended family Marc, Julianna, and Christina Rees; Kari, Tim, Jeremy and Allen Fowkes and Spencer, Deanna, Aaron, Nathaniel and Katelyn Hammer. Joan is also survived by several nieces and nephews. A reception for family and friends will be held at the Manors, 6700 Hunterview Drive N.W., on Saturday, April 20, 2013 between 1:30 and 3:30 p.m. (403) 275-5667.
