Joe Wong was born August 10, 1913 and died in Calgary on May 7, 2013. He would have celebrated his 100th birthday this year. Joe was the 4th child of 18 children born to Jim Choon Wong. He was born in Banff, Alberta. Joe was known as brother #4. His father and mother and family went back to Kaiping, China in 1922. Joe went to school there until he was 19 years old. He returned to Manitoba, Canada after his studies in China. Joe went into the restaurant business with his brothers Duncan and Gene in Saint John and Fredericton, New Brunswick. His wife, Helen, passed away in 2001. Joe will be laid to rest next to Helen.
A Funeral Service with Visitation will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South, (at Lake Fraser Gate) Calgary on Saturday, May 11, 2013. Visitation at 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m.
