Joel was born in Camrose, AB and spent most of his life in Calgary. Joel was a kind and gentle soul who was always sensitive to the needs of others. He battled with many health issues during his life but rarely complained. He was known for his sense of humour and appreciated his visits with friends and family. Joel enjoyed travelling, music, and had a keen interest in current affairs. He is survived by his parents Pastor Joe and Doris Rostad, brothers Don (Joanne) and David (Tracy) and nieces Shannon, Kristin, Jeanette, Tara and Kari. Joel will be dearly missed but lovingly remembered.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, December 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Lutheran Church of the Cross, 10620 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Schizophrenia Society of Alberta, 309, 8989 Macleod Trail SE, Calgary, AB T2H 0M2.
