Kathy Trieber passed away on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at the age of 63 years. Born in July of 1958 to Albert and Wilma Straub, Kathy spent most of her formative years near Medicine Hat, Alberta. She moved to Calgary in 1977. Her first job was as a secretary at Cohos Evamy Partners where she met lifelong friends and discovered her passion for leadership in a work environment. Over the course of her life she accomplished much success through her ever present kindness, strength and hard work and over time became the manager of AP at Paramount Resources ltd. She was a mentor to many and calm and wise presence in the face of life challenges. She took pride in her health and enjoyed hiking in the mountains, travelling the world and rocking out to bands like Queen, ACDC and Elton John. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who adored caring for others.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children and their families, Jacqueline (Sam) Willcocks, and Jason Trieber; grandchildren Oliver-Finn Willcocks and Lilly Willcocks. Kathy is also survived by her sister Ethel (Bert) Bachmier. She is predeceased by her father Albert Straub, mother Wilma Straub, and brother Clinton Straub.
A Celebration of Kathy’s life will be held on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at 10:00am at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery).
