HONISH, Kevin Allen passed away as the result of a vicious and tragic assault that ended his life, on July 16, 2022 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 55 years. Kev was a born and raised Calgarian, true to his roots he never strayed far from Calgary. He and his siblings were raised by his mother Karen.
He was not a privileged child of a stable and comfortable home upbringing. He watched a single mom struggle to make ends meet on her own, repeatedly seeking stability and safety with different partners and influences for her children. Seeking the never-ending thrills through his teen to adult years, Kev thrived on fast cars, big bucks, and classy ladies by his side, this took Kev into some circles of life that were truly never ending. Ones that would not only see him lose many close family members, mentors, and young friends, but also gain new bonds, all of which, would profoundly deepen the scars and characteristics that would define him. Throughout Kev’s journey he would show us what it meant to take life on as a rolling stone, using his many amazing talents he had, he mastered with ease artistic woodcrafts and stained glass, carpentry, interior design, construction as well as mechanics.
We will never forget his one-of-a-kind style and flair from fancy colognes to fashion, attracting him much love and attention from all the special and remarkable ladies in his life. His profound pride in his family most notably his nieces, shone brightly, watching as they developed into most beautiful, caring, intelligent young ladies, this gave him joy of no boundaries. He carved his way into the hearts of all those fortunate enough to truly take the time to get to know and love him for who he was, it was our honor and privilege to be his brother, sister, brother-in-law, niece, and friend. Although a late bloomer with animals compared to his siblings, he became a dedicated and devoted father to Diamond puppy his only furry friend ever, she, the one lady he treasured most, his absolute most loyal partner to the bitter end gave him the unconditional love he so deserved.
Left to mourn and cherish his memories, are his brother Trevor, sister Tammy (Mario), nieces Amy and Stephanie (Caelen) and his extended family members and friends. Kevin was predeceased by both his parents at very young ages, Father Louis Honish age 26, and Mother Karen Nelson age 51. Fly free big brother, watch over and keep us safe from harm’s way, hug Mom and Grandma for us, our lives will never be the same without you. In our heart and soul, you will remain larger than life always, your memories to be forever cherished, until we meet again, may you rest in eternal peace.
