Lenard Omond Simison

Born in Tompkins, SK, Len leaves to mourn his beloved wife Betty; her daughters Elizabeth (Dennis) of Spruce Grove, AB, Cherry (David) and Sandy (Pete) as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Ted; step daughter Veronica (John) of Calgary, AB; sisters in law Irene and Martha of Spruce Grove, AB and Lynn (Dave) of Alder Flats, AB. He is predeceased by his mother and father; first wife Phyllis; her daughter Gale; and brothers Robert, Bert, George and Doug. Len worked for CPR, was in The Lake Superior Regiment and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion for 38 years. He truly loved to take holidays each year and especially enjoyed the Okanagan. He will be sadly missed by all who really knew him. Rest in Peace dearest Len.

A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery in the Field of Honour. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Calgary Poppy Fund, 1-4539 6 Street N.E., Calgary, AB T2E 3Z6.
