Lily was born in Pellaro, Italy and came to Canada with her parents and twin siblings in 1954 when she was 4 years old. They settled in Coleman, Alberta, where Lily attended school from grades 1 through 12. Lily was a teacher for 38 years, and after graduating from the University of Lethbridge she taught in Claresholm, Tilley, and Elk Point in Alberta. There she taught English and French. Lily organized tours every year for her students to go to Quebec and Europe. Paul and Lily enjoyed, camping, skiing, biking, and just being outdoors. They also enjoyed travelling to Europe to visit relatives. They were avid attendees of the Calgary and Edmonton opera.
Lily is survived by her husband Paul, brothers; Joe Paviglianiti (Kerri), Domenic Paviglianiti, sister Frances Nestor (Terry), nieces and nephews; Danina, Anthony, Nicola, Jordan, Matteo, Dustin, Terri-Lynn and Mitch. Lily was a wonderful aunt to all her nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by Caterina and Antonia Paviglianiti, and niece Domenique Paviglianiti.
A Funeral Service will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, February 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
Interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
