The world lost a most beloved mother and grandmother, Liyan Xu at the age of ninety years, on November 24, 2022. Liyan battled advanced pancreatic cancer, but this never stopped her from loving, and caring for her daughters and their families.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Lucy and Jenny; sons-in-law: David and Liming; Grandsons: Brian and Adam, and numerous other family members.
She also will be dearly missed by her best friend, Jinfeng Yang.
Liyan is predeceased by her husband of 60 years Hongjing Wang.
Liyan was born in China and was a professor of Physics at a university in Xi’an in China. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and grandma; and devoted all her love and life to her family. She loved gardening, knitting, reading, and traveling.
The family would like to thank the Rosedale Hospice staff for their excellent care for Liyan.
