

Lorraine Margretta, Forsberg was born on June 14th, 1956, in Bengough, Saskatchewan. She passed away suddenly on December 2nd in Calgary, AB at the age of 69. She was the youngest of 6 children. She is survived by her sisters; Anne Soderlund and Marjorie Betts (Rick), nephews; Ryan, Bryce and Dustin, nieces; Holly, Marjorie, Brandi, Jacqui, and Shannon, sister-in-law; Winnifred, and many more family and friends. Lorraine was predeceased by her parents; Edling and Grace, her brothers; Greg and Jack and her sister; Marlene.
She left home at age 15 to attend high school in Weyburn. During her high school years, she worked part time as an aide at the Souris Mental Health Hospital. Shortly following graduation, she moved to Calgary, where she worked as a care aide at the Fanning Centre. Later, Lorraine graduated from Mount Royal College, as a Registered Nurse. After graduating she worked for many years at the Rockyview, first on a palliative focused medical unit and then a mental health unit. Later, she went on to work as a Community Mental Health Nurse at the Sheldon Chumir.
Lorraine was a kind, compassionate nurse, and a very hard worker. She was an excellent bedside nurse and always supportive of her colleagues. She was a care giver to the depth of her soul and she lived to care for her beloved dogs, her family and her friends. She gave with her heart to make those around her feel heard, seen and accepted. Despite suffering serious health challenges for many years, she never complained and always had a ready smile and a positive outlook. She will be missed by many. Rest in peace, Lorraine.
Her celebration of life will be held on Thursday, December 11th at 1:00pm at South Calgary Funeral Centre at 12700 Macleod Trail, SE.
