Louise was such a wonderful inspiration to us and always had a warm smile and encouraging word for me. I am thankful along with you that she is now enjoying her eternal reward and perfect peace. I pray that this peace accompanies you and your family as well.

How meaningful that your Mom would 'go home' at the start of the Easter weekend.
We have the hope and comfort that Jesus' death and resurrection guarantees us new life - and eternal life with him where there's no more pain, sorrow, tears or death.
Needless to say, we're so very sorry to 'lose' such a dear lady.  Much could be said about dear Louise.
Our hearts go out to you and your and family.

We send our sincere sympathy to each of you.  It has been a long haul for all of you but with many prayers you have all kept up the pace and spent lots of time with your mother.  Its very sad and lonely to have one you love dearly pass away but when there  is no hope left you just pray for the day the Good Lord does take them to a better place.   Very glad that she did not have  much pain.  Just keep thinking and remembering all the  wonderful  times and things you did together,  gives you some peace, I think. 
Thank you so very much for keeping us updated.  We will be thinking and praying  for you all as you make arrangements for the finally farewell.  May God keep you all in his keeping.

Please accept my sincerest condolences on the loss of your dear one and my friend. It becomes so real at a time like this that the scripture which states "we sorrow not as others who have no hope..." brings such assurance. Perhaps Louise and my Marian are playing a duet with organ and piano or accompanying the other saints in their Hallelujah Chorus even now. What a hope we have in Jesus!

Dear Percy:

The passing of a loved one brings many emotions to the surface and words are very inadequate to give expression to them. I have many fond memories of your and Louise's hospitality in making us feel so much at home when visiting - especially my "hanging out" in my "home away from home" when I was travelling with the Bethel Series. Lorraine recalls doing the rounds of display and open houses with Louise, while we men found something more interesting to do! 

It is fitting that Louise departed at Easter time with its joyous message of resurrection. What a difference faith makes! The sorrow of Good Friday is washed away in the glorious good news that our Lord is alive and and that the lives of the faithful are caught up with him into eternal life. Praise be to God for his grace and love so lavishly bestowed upon us. 

We are at present in Kennewick, WA and will not be able to attend the funeral service on Tuesday. You can be sure you will continue to be very much in our prayers. Please convey our sympathy with the family and our joy that for Louise her time of suffering is over and she is at rest in the arms of her Lord.

Dear Percy, Laurel and Family,

Elke and I wish to express our heartfelt sympathy on the passing of Louise. This is certainly a hard time for you as you mourn for your wife, mother and grandmother. We wish you our Lord’s comfort at this time and in days to come. He has promised He would be with us always. We know that Louise is in paradise, free from all pain, sorrow and earthly cares. We can therefore take great comfort in the words from the Apostle Paul:

We are going to miss Louise so much, especially when we're down in Arizona.
She always was "in her element" when she was shopping and really knew where to go to get good deals.    This past winter we did miss all those shopping hints she would pass on.
She loved to go to the hot pool.  When I walked past there in the evenings, I would often think of her and the many enjoyable evenings we had there, including the many lively conversations.
She had such a ministry to so many people - in hospitality, organizing Christmas parcels and reaching out to so many people.
Though we miss her, we look forward to one day meeting her again when our Lord returns.  Until then, she will continue to be in our memories.

Grandma Will Soon See Heaven

When you needed a helping hand, grandma was there. 
When you needed an ear to talk to or a shoulder to cry on, grandma was there. 
When you needed some advice on something you couldn't get right, grandma was there.
Grandma made every time a celebration, whether it was Christmas, Thanksgiving or even a brunch,
Grandma always made the best lunch.
Grandma broke down barriers between people of different colors or different race 
Grandma welcomed everyone with grace, 
Did I already mention her cooking had the best taste?
Grandma never forgot a single birthday, not one!
I might not save all the money, but I kept all the cards, because they remind me of just how wonderful the Shelvey's are. 
Grandma's house was the place to be, where you can feel loved and be amazed by everything you see... 
I saw grandma mentor my mother and help her with school, made sure her children (as in us) were ok & never went cold or hungry to school 
I saw how grandma held my baby sisters hand and took her to play at the park,
Grandma could light up any room even if it were dark.
I saw the way grandma loved everyone from strangers to her immediate family,
I saw the way grandma loved grandpa and made him so happy.
Grandma always knew what to say and how to hug, just the right way 
Grandma gave me gifts I'll never lose sight of, although she now blesses us from above.
Grandma means more to me than i believe she ever knew.
All these things, grandma, I say are true 
Grandma was a messenger and worker for The Lord,
Grandma not only spoke, but she lived The Word
Grandma is the reason why so many things, are the way they are
Grandmas love shined brighter than the evening star 
When some of us never had a chance to meet our own.
Grandma was the only grandma I've ever known
And that's what makes it hard to let her go, but where she's gone now, she is happy and most likely playing the piano... 

If Louise, grandma, mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend, Shelvey was able to speak to us all today, I'd imagine she would say "Don't cry for me, I'm not here, I've seen heaven."

What a fragile thing this life is, yet oh so meaningful and full.  Aunt Louise lived her life so full, such a great example. She was a gracious hostess, so sincerely welcoming.
