Lucille was born on June 14, 1937, in Nokomis, Saskatchewan. Her family moved from Nokomis to Saskatoon where she finished her education. Lucille pursued her passion for health care by working as a lab technician at the University of Saskatchewan’s Cancer Research program and was mentored by the esteemed Dr. Begg.
In 1958, she married the love of her life, John Larson. Together, they built a life filled with adventure, moving throughout Saskatchewan with their family, from Saskatoon to North Battleford, Maidstone to Regina, even as far as Whitehorse, Yukon, before eventually returning to settle in North Battleford. There, Lucille became a deeply engaged and valued member of her community.
Lucille began her career as a hospital lab technologist, a role that naturally led her to work closely with physicians in family practices. She went on to build a rewarding career in many medical offices in Whitehorse, Yukon, and later in North Battleford, Saskatchewan until her retirement in 2002.
Lucille embraced life with enthusiasm and creativity. She was actively involved in her church, organizations, and social groups, including Kiwanis, bridge club, and dance club. In her sixties, she even took up learning the violin, demonstrating her lifelong love of music. She found joy in her many hobbies including crocheting, tatting, golf, fishing, art and crafts, and games of all kinds.
Later in life, Lucille and John relocated to Alberta to be closer to their daughters and cherished grandchildren. She especially loved her role as a grandmother to Brock, Sarah, and Devon, who brought her immense pride and happiness.
Lucille was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Larson (2013); her parents, Christopher Stuart Wallace and Muriel Wallace Hitchcock; her brother George Wallace and sister-in-law Nola; her niece Brenda Wallace; her sister Marilyn Fisher and brother-in-law Don Fisher; her brother-in-law Allan Larson and sister-in-law Arlee Larson; her brother-in-law Bill Larson and sister-in-law Edie Larson; and her sister-in-law Noni Gall.
She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving daughters, Lynda Lou Jesse (Shawn) of Cochrane, Alberta, and Carolyn Fawcett (Curtis) of Standard, Alberta; her treasured grandchildren Brock, Sarah, and Devon Jesse; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
In keeping with Lucille’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
