Man Jung Jack Wong

Man Jung Jack Wong passed away peacefully at Greenview Wing Kei in Calgary, Alberta on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in the presence of his loving children Sherry and Linda. He lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of cherished memories.

Man Jung was born on July 6, 1930 in Kai-Ping, Quangdong, China. In 1958, he married the love of his life, Choi Wan, and together they embarked on a new journey, immigrating to Calgary, Alberta to build a life and raise a family. Man Jung worked diligently in various restaurants and served the Catholic school board as a custodian until his retirement in 1994.

He is survived by his devoted wife Choi Wan Lilly Wong, and their four children: daughter Susan Cameron (Dave Mercer Hazlitt), son Henry Wong, daughter Sherry Wong (Angela Wu), and daughter Linda (Craig) Lunn. Man Jung was a source of inspiration to his children and his affection will continue to guide them throughout their lives.

Man Jung was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren who brought him immeasurable joy: Sean (Tamera) Cameron, Dan (Jessica) Cameron, Nathan (Tara) Lunn, Brieanna Lunn, Carri Ko (Robert Wong), and Lori Ko (Mark Hu). He also had the privilege of being a great-grandfather to two adorable great-granddaughters Annabelle Cameron and Ferelith Cameron. Sadly, he was predeceased by his great-grandson Carter Cameron.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the compassionate home care workers who provided support and care for our father during his final days. Special thanks also go to the dedicated staff at Greenview Wing Kei for their unwavering support and exceptional care.

Man Jung Jack Wong's memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His legacy of love, resilience, and strength will continue to inspire future generations. May his soul find eternal peace.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, June 25, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
