Marg will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 65 years, Keith; children David (Connie) Christensen, Dan (Shawna) Christensen, and Kathy (Brent) Yuers; grandchildren, Emily (Brad) Vandebeek, Erin (Thomas) Pugh, Bryce (Taylor) Christensen, Mark Christensen and Brady (Renée) Christensen and Owen Yuers; great grandchildren, Charley, Nash and Henry; her sisters Lena Scott, LaDonna MacRae, Jean Berg, brothers, Ernie, Dan and Bob Tessari. She is predeceased by her parents Michael and Margaretha Tessari, brothers John, Nicholas and Lawrence Tessari and sisters Anne Craine and Mary Conville.
Marg grew up in Warner, AB and was the 7th of 12 children. She married Keith in 1957, they moved to Peterborough, ON. and after a year moved back home to Alberta. They lived in Lethbridge for 2 years and Calgary from 1959 to 2023, with a 5-year stint in Red Deer (1980 -1985). Marg was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed her job in real estate as an office administrator and spent time volunteering over the years, particularly with the TransAlta Retirement Association.
Marg enjoyed entertaining friends and family, whether it was at the farm near Markerville, the cabin at Lake Blaine, Montana, or playing the piano for a group sing song. Prior to 1988, the farm was the place for Marg and Keith’s family and friends to party, snowmobile, canoe, play cards and horseshoes, look after an immense garden and sometimes relax, although Marg barely ever sat down and almost always logged more than 10,000 steps per day. Post 1988, we were very fortunate to have the cabin in Montana where we all grew up together. Marg would make the best buns (“Grandma’s buns”), play numerous games, particularly PayMe and thoroughly enjoyed sitting on the deck discussing world problems. She was a proficient bridge player, enjoyed golf, ski trips and working out at Spa Lady for the last 45 years. She travelled to many places in the world with notable trips to Morocco, Australia, New Zealand, and Europe - France, Italy, Greece, Croatia and Russia to name a few.
At 85 years old Marg was an inspiration to us all for her outlook on life, her belief in eating properly, and exercising mind and body. Marg was passionate, tenacious and unwavering in her beliefs and in life. She was a major force in our lives and we will miss her dearly.
A Celebration of Marg’s life will be held at SOUTH CALGARY FUNERAL CENTRE, 12700 Macleod Trail South (at Lake Fraser Gate) on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 1:00 p.m.
