Margaret Joyce Morrison

Joyce Morrison, beloved wife of the late Harry Morrison of Calgary, AB. passed away peacefully at the Dulcina Hospice, located at St. Marguerite Manor in Calgary. AB on Tuesday, April 09, 2024 at the age of 91 years.

Joyce was born September 10, 1932 at The Muirhead Family Homestead Sec. 13-11-17 in the Rural Municipality of Elton, Manitoba to Edmond and Agnes Muirhead. Joyce had one brother Russell Muirhead.

Joyce and Harry travelled throughout the world and made many lifelong friends along the way. With the passing of Harry in 1988 Joyce found new travel partners in family and friends to continue her love of travel and exploring.

Joyce enjoyed working at Highwood Drugs and The Ant Hill Fabric store and in her spare time also loved bowling, curling and golfing. For 26 years she was a member of the Evergreen Seniors Outdoor Club where she participated in cross country skiing and hiking which remained a favorite activity into her late 80's. Trips to Scotland and England combined hiking and touring.

After being convinced to take a motorcycle ride with her son Brian she was quickly hooked and enjoyed many valued rides, including a ride with Kids With Cancer Society.

Joyce was an elder at Chalmers Presbyterian Church. An avid sewer, crafter and baker she contributed to numerous bake sales and events. A family and friend favorite dessert was her Angel Feathers.

Joyce is survived by her loving children Janice (Grant), daughter-in law Ingrid (Brian), Kevin and daughter Karen (Ed); grandchildren Colleen (Carlos), Ryan (Stephanie), Brent (Erin), Cory (Katie), Angela (Gareth), Lauren (Phil) and Devan (Ashlie); great grandchildren Kiara, Mikaela, Rhys, Kai, Parker, Grayson and Amelia.

Joyce was predeceased by her loving husband, Harry, her beloved son, Brian and great granddaughter Maeve.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Foster's Chapel, 3220 - 4 St NW Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 2:00 p.m.
