

Marie (Bais) Stenberg Ufland was born in St. Francis, Ontario on February 15, 1925. She was raised in Manitoba and moved to Calgary in 1951. Mary is predeceased by her second husband Emil Ufland; her brothers Jack and John; her sisters Henrietta and Ann; and her parents Simon and Maria (Bais) Van Der Drift. Mary is survived by her two loving children Glen Ufland and his wife Gloria of Calgary, Alberta, and Bonnie Harrison and her husband Robert of Toronto, Ontario. She has seven grandchildren: Grant Molitor, Jason Ufland, Jacqueline Tran, Sarah Camilleri, Dayle Harrison, Mathew Harrison, and Melanie Sheils; as well as five great grand-children: Tydus Tran, Keira Tran, Olivia Tran, Joel Camilleri, Samuel Camilleri, Rachel Camilleri, Isaac Harrison, Jaide Vlahovic and Jacob Janjuh. She is also survived by numerous family members, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mary was a charter member of the Calgary Rock and Lapidary Club where she enjoyed collecting, cutting and polishing semi-precious stones and fossils. She also volunteered at the Albert Park Community, Greater Forest Lawn Community, and the Salvation Army. Mary and Emil also ran a small plumbing business for 20 years. Their son, Glen Ufland, joined the business later on as well.
Due to COVID regulations, a memorial celebration will be held at a later date.
