Mei Yuen Quon, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 93, in Calgary, Alberta on Tuesday, January 15, 2025.
Mei was born in Kaiping, Guangdong, China and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Quon, and daughter, Susan Lee. She is survived by her son, Dennis (wife Sandra), as well as her cherished grandchildren, Grant (wife Susanna), Victor, Mike (wife Jada), Melanie (husband Ryan), and her great-grandchildren Vincent, Victoria, Evan, Koa, Morgan, and Jax.
Mei was known for her infectious laughter, which could light up any room, and her boundless generosity. She had a unique way of making those around her feel special, often by sharing her favorite treat—Werther's candies—with anyone nearby, especially children. Her warm heart and giving nature were evident in the little things she did to bring joy to others, always eager to brighten someone's day with a sweet gesture. Her kind spirit, nurturing presence, and genuine care for others will always be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
A private funeral service will be held in Winnipeg.
She will be deeply missed but forever in our hearts.
