Mildred Joyce Monkman Lopez

Millie is lovingly remembered by her husband of 41 years, Jose and daughter, Anna-Maria. She is also survived by her brother, James “Jimmy” Monkman, and his family, as well as numerous other relatives and friends. Millie worked at AGT as a service advisor in her younger years. She took time off to be a mother and then returned to Telus to relay messages for the hearing impaired. She loved all music, and especially adored dancing. She was an incredible story teller, an independent spirit, and will be remembered for her laughter and her smile. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the care staff at Bowcrest Nursing Home for all their care and support.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at a visitation held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Alzheimer’s Society of Calgary, 201, 222 - 58 Avenue S.W., Calgary, AB T2H 2S3.
