Neelam Kumari Sharma

It is with great sorrow we announce that our beloved Neelam Sharma, born July 17, 1950, lost her courageous battle with brain cancer on Wednesday, April 30, 2014 in Calgary, AB. She is survived by her father Vaikunth Dada; her loving husband Chaman; daughters Priya and Anjali; siblings Atul and Suman; sisters-in-law Kiran and Aruna, and nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her brother Arvind and mother Kanta.

Neelam spoke fondly about her joyous childhood in India. After attaining a Masters degree in history, she married and immigrated to Canada. She faced many challenges in her life but bravely met each one. Neelam was our hero. She loved to laugh and sing. Her great strength was drawn from her playful, graceful spirit, her positive attitude, devotion to God, and the love of her family and friends. A service to honour Neelam's life will be held on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery). Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
