Our hearts are heavy with the passing of Otto, a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and loyal friend. Otto was born in Schwaz, Austria in 1927 and immigrated to Canada at the age of 26. His adventurous spirit took him and his family through many provinces, while pursuing a wide variety of career opportunities. He settled in Calgary in 1970, where he developed an insatiable appetite for the oil and gas industry. Otto embraced life and enjoyed it to the fullest. Without a doubt, he left a lasting impression wherever he travelled with his unforgettable character and charm. Otto will be lovingly remembered by his wife of fifty-five years, Anita; three daughters Mickey (Sigi) Holzner, Gaby (Paul) Rogers and Jackie (Allan) Thorne; and his treasured grandchildren Sydney, Claudia, Allyza and Simone. Otto was predeceased by his two sons Rudy and Daniel. A Celebration of Otto’s Life will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 10:00a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 100, 119 – 14 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
Rest gently dear Otto, you’ll be deeply missed.
