Peter Fulton, 78, of Calgary, passed away September 17, 2024, at South Health Campus.
Peter was born in Calgary to Stella and Robert Fulton, growing up in East Calgary and Windsor Park. Peter was in the first class at Chinook High School which was temporarily located in Woodman Junior High School until the high school was finished on 75th Avenue and Elbow Drive. After completion, it was renamed Henry Wise Wood High School. Peter and Wendy met in high school and graduated from Henry Wise Wood. They were married June 21, 1969, and had two sons, Paul and Philip.
After high school, Peter started working at Foothills Steel Foundry. Then moved to manufacturing – insulation at Plasti-Fab, vinyl siding at Building Products of Canada, plastic soft drink and water bottles at Twinpak. He retired from Amcor PET Packaging (formerly Twinpak) in 2001. Realizing retirement wasn’t all it was cracked up to be, he found pleasure working at International Results Group.
Peter was interested in planes and flying and took flying lessons with the Calgary Flying Club at the Springbank Airport, earning his Private Pilot's License. He was always happy to take friends and family flying.
Peter was an avid reader, community volunteer and lover of animals and nature. Many summers he hauled the heavy hose and sprinkler onto Parkside Green as part of the City’s Adopt a Park Program. Later in his retirement he found great pleasure going to visit, cuddle and walk dogs for the Calgary Humane Society.
Peter is survived by his wife Wendy, sons Paul and Philip (Paula), grandchildren Elias and Daisy, brother David (Jeanette), nephew Adam Berry and his children Jack and Stella (Georgetown, ON) and niece Allison (Nick) Craig and their children Leah and Liam (New Zealand). As well as his Grand Dogs Sherman and Stewart. He is also survived by brother-in-law Wayne Suffesick and his family and sister-in-law Susan (Brian) Rosa.
At Peter’s request, no funeral will be held.
