

Peter Roxburgh was born on January 21, 1928 in Calgary, AB and passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, AB at the age of 85 years.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lucille (nee Horspool); children, Mary (Dan) Telfer, Jennifer (Fred) Butterworth, Barbara (Bryan) Francis, Andrew (Sharann) Roxburgh; 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Peter graduated as a Civil Engineer from the University of Alberta in 1951 and was employed by Calgary Power until his retirement in 1987. Peter was involved with the surveying of the Kananaskis, Barrier and Pocaterra Rivers for hydro-electric dams; construction of the Brazeau Dam; reconnaissance of various rivers in Brazil from 1964 to 1965 for the selection of suitable sites for future power dam projects, mapping and management of coal resources. Peter was a life member and served as Commodore of the Calgary Yacht Club. He enjoyed sailing on Chestermere Lake for many years. Peter traveled throughout Canada, the United States and Europe but mostly he enjoyed gatherings of family and friends.
