Ralph (Richard Ralph) Hayes passed away on June 13, 2014. Born in Edmonton, Ralph joined the family of Edwin and Marjorie as an infant. They resided in Okotoks and he spent his early life there. Ralph worked for the City of Calgary for many years until he retired to care for his beloved mother, Marjorie.
An exemplary son, Ralph was also a much beloved brother to Frank and his wife Doris and an adored uncle and “auxiliary dad” to his nephew and nieces; Frank Jr. and his wife Pam, Patricia and her husband Frank (Hall) and Sherry. Ralph dearly loved his great nieces and nephews; Jeremy, Micah, Sandra, Jennifer, Dana, Ainsley, Simon and Jane and his cousin Darcy. He also felt blessed in getting to know his great-great nieces and nephews.
In recent years Ralph was excited to find and meet some of his birth sisters and brothers, Henry Taube, Adeline Rosenquist, Evelyn Gengenbach, Freida Reed, Alex Taube and Rose Overbye. Ralph will be sorely missed.
Good men are rare and Ralph was one of them. He recognized this world is full of different people and he accepted them all. He gave respect to all and helped all those who asked. He accepted his responsibilities and made the most of his life.
Please join us to celebrate the gift of knowing Ralph at a service at 5:00 p.m. with a reception to follow, on July 2, 2014 at 1000 Lake Fraser Green SE, Bonavista Estates II.
