The family of Rick Roseneder is saddened to announce his passing from a lengthy illness of January 14, 2026 at the age of 68 years at Southwood Hospice. Rick is survived by his beloved wife Sybille, his father Robert "Bob" Roseneder, his sons; Mark Roseneder and Scott Roseneder (Sherman) and Sybille's children; Adam (Gen) Keller and Anne Marie (Cory) Schmidt and their families. He is also lovingly remembered by his sisters Janette Roseneder and Sandra (David) Newhouse, brother Greg (Maria) Roseneder and many nieces and nephews. Rick is a proud grandfather to Chloe and Braidon Roseneder, children of Mark, and loved them deeply. Rick was predeceased by his mother, Marjorie in 2010. Many thanks to all the wonderful staff and Dr. Tanya Murynka at the Southwood Hospice that helped care for Rick through his final journey. Their kindness and dedication to their work is the highest of standards. Rick graduated from Bishop Grandin High School in 1975 and went on to graduate from SAIT in 1980. He began his career as a Heavy Duty Mechanic working for the Alberta Government Telephones, where he served as Charge Hand and Acting Foreman from 1982 until October 1994. Rick later joined H&R Transport, where his dedication, leadership, and technical expertise led him to the role of Director of Fleet Maintenance, and ultimately to Vice President of Fleet Maintenance and Facilities, from which he retired in December 2019. He held Red Seal certification in both Automotive and Heavy duty mechanics, completed Six Sigma Training, and held Total Quality Control Certification. Athletics played an important role in Rick's high school life. He played football with the Calgary Colts and Bishop Grandi High School, and rugby with the Saints Rugby Team. Outside of work and sport, Rick enjoyed fishing, white-water rafting, water/snow skiing, and had a lifelong passion for music and high-quality stereo systems. Rick will be remembered for his strong work ethic, leadership, love of family, and the many friendships he built over a full and meaningful life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to a charity of your choice in Rick’s memory.
