Mr. Robert Stewart Foster

June 29, 1939 – April 10, 2016

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts; we announce the passing of our dear Roy, a devoted husband, dad and grandad. Left to mourn Roy’s passing are his wife of 48 years, Joy; sons Roger (Laura), Robert (Jennifer) and Shaun (Shelly); daughter Heather (Jamie); grandchildren Erin, Kaley, Zachary, Zoey and Zander; as well as brother Brian (Deborah). He will also be missed by close family friends Aileen Jackson and family; Barry (Leisa) Kwan and family; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Roy was predeceased by his mother Ethel, father Bob and sister Eileen Burton. Roy was a proud employee of Air Canada; he worked there for 37 years before his retirement in 1996. Roy enjoyed travelling and spending time on his farm west of Rimbey. At the farm he loved to entertain friends and discuss politics. You will be greatly missed Roy, rest in peace. Special thanks to the nursing staff of Unit 43 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital, the staff at Dulcina Hospice and Dr. Sharma. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made directly to Dulcina Hospice, 110 Evanspark Manor N.W., Calgary, AB. A Memorial Service will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 – 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, April 15, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy may be forwarded to the family via the website www.fostersgardenchapel.ca.
