Roko Sumera

On November 29, 2013, our dad was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma Multiform brain tumour. We were told that with hope and radiation treatments, we could expect six to twelve months of life for our beloved father. Dad went through a multitude of tests, had radiation treatments and further suffered from other secondary ailments, however, he remained a strong and fierce soul who fought so hard to stay optimistic during this challenge.

Dad fought this long and unrelenting battle with tremendous courage and heart; sadly he succumbed to and lost his fight just shy of a year later. On November 7, 2014 at 4:12pm the Lord ended his suffering and took our cherished father home.

The loss of our dad has left a void in all of our hearts that nothing will ever be able to fill. He will always be remembered and missed by his loving wife of 47 years - Teresa, his daughters: Suzanne (husband Tim), Margie (husband Glen), Sabrina and his sons: Roko Jr. (girlfriend Kaitlin) and Mladen. He is also missed terribly by his grandchildren: Chelsea, Hunter, Matthew, Alesia, Tori and Brock.

He is also survived by his eldest sister Tonka and her daughters, his brothers: Andy (wife Maria), Ljubo (wife Ljubiza), his younger brother Frane (wife Mariza), and his brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Roko was predeceased by his parents, Andrea and Ljubica Sumera and his father and mother-in-law Domenico and Francesca Mattia.

Rest in eternal peace Dad, your memory will live on forever. xoxo
