Rolf Moen passed away at Bow View Manor Nursing Home on Friday, February 4, 2011 at the age of 90 years. During World War II, Rolf spent most of the war years as a Foot Soldier in Europe. After the war, he had a love for farming and was employed as an iron worker for most of his career until he retired in the early 1980's. Rolf's hobbies included playing cards, bowling, gardening, reading and entertaining family and friends. He remained in his home in Northwest Calgary until 2008 when he moved to Bow View Manor. Rolf is survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and sister-in-law Jan McAuley. He was predeceased by his wife June in March 2007; parents Knut and Marie; brothers Clarence, Roy and Arnold; sister Mable and brother-in-law Roy McAuley. A Funeral Service will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., Calgary (across from Queen's Park Cemetery) on Friday, February 11, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Queen's Park Cemetery.
