Roy was born in Nipawin, SK, briefly lived in Thompson, Manitoba before settling in Calgary. He is survived by his wife, Beverly Barthel and predeceased by his parents August and Margaret Hoppe; and 3 brothers, Percy, Leslie and Gorden.
Roy’s family will hold a private moment to honour him in their own way.
