She was born in Bassano, Alberta on July 19th, 1930 to Miles & Margaret Clemmons. Ruby was a teacher in the early days of all grades in a one-room school. After marrying Arthur Kisinger, she put her energies into raising her family of 5 children. She was a gifted musician (piano), volunteered in community activities, loved to sew and knit for her family, enjoyed baking, gardening and being with her family of children/spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Ruby was entrepreneurial: she attended Athabasca College online then bought and managed a convenience store in downtown Calgary on Olympic Plaza. When she retired from her business, her hobbies became learning computer skills, keeping up with politics, gardening and definitely life-long learning. We all have fond memories of the backyard Bar-B-Que’s on the patio overlooking a beautiful garden of flowers, fruits and vegetables.
She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her children and their families, Dixie & Bruce Cameron, Miles & Lolly Kisinger, and Gerald & Deborah Kisinger; her son-in-law, Orville McCartney; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her son and daughter-in-law Darcy & Ellie Kisinger; and her daughter Holly McCartney.
A Funeral Service to honour Ruby will be held at FOSTER’S GARDEN CHAPEL (3220 4TH Street NW, Calgary AB) on Wednesday, September 27th at 2:00 PM with interment to follow at QUEEN’S PARK CEMETERY.
