Rui Zhen Huang

Born in Guang Dong, China, Rui Zhen lived a life full of love, resilience, and devotion to her family. She married the love of her life, Chong Ding Zhou, and together they built a beautiful life, raising four cherished children: Roger Zhou (Sharon) of Calgary, Sandy Wong (Jim) of Lethbridge, Alberta, Tobey Zhou (Tyson), and Simon Zhou of Vancouver, British Columbia.

Rui was a proud grandmother to Nina Dueck (Jordan), Jay Wong, Gary Zhou, and Andy Zhou, and a joyful great-grandmother to Aria and Oakley Dueck. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into nurturing and supporting each generation.

After immigrating to Canada in 1994, Rui and her family settled in Lethbridge, Alberta, where she found happiness in gardening and caring for her grandchildren. Her warmth, strength, and unwavering love left a lasting impression on all who knew her.

Rui will be deeply missed by her beloved husband, her devoted children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, as well as extended family and friends whose lives she touched.

A Funeral Service to honor Rui’s life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel Funeral Home - 3220 4 St NW, Calgary, Alberta (across from Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Sunday, May 25th at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Prairie Sky Cemetery.
