Ruth passed away peacefully in Calgary, AB on Wednesday, April 1, 2026 at the age of 88 years. Born in East Germany, she immigrated to Calgary with her parents and sisters in 1953. She married Theodor (Ted) Tober in 1954. She supported Ted in home building with paperwork, bookkeeping and business organizing which led to a career involved with real estate. She was active in Lutheran churches, constantly engaged with family, loved animals and had a passion for gardening. She loved shopping, constantly filling her van with gardening supplies. Ruth is predeceased by Theodor and her parents, Wilhelm and Olga Plewe. Ruth is survived by her daughters; Caroline Stern (William) and Marlene Mullenix (David); son Daniel Tober (Silvia); granddaughter Vivianne Minich-Castro (David); and grandson William Tober (Linda). A Christian Celebration of her Life will be held at Foster’s Garden Chapel, 3220 4 Street NW, Calgary on Monday, April 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. with interment to follow at Queen’s Park Cemetery.
