Shirley Eileen Mossing passed away peacefully in the comfort of her room with family by her side on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Sage Hill Retirement Residence in Calgary, Alberta, at the age of 82 years.
Shirley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, co-worker and forever friend. She had many passions throughout her life, one of which was music. She loved to entertain and sang with the voice of an angel.
As an avid sports fan, Shirley rarely missed a Roughrider or Blue Jays game and if one of her children or grandchildren were participating, whether it was hockey, baseball, softball, volleyball or football, she was their biggest cheerleader. Oh, how she loved to watch them play!
Shirley was also a dedicated member of her church and community and loved to share her wonderful gifts of hospitality and conversation.
Shirley is survived by her sons Rodney and Steven Mossing, daughter Leanne Thompson (Doug); grandchildren Stephanie (Matthew), Joshua (Jazlyn) and Jeffrey (Adrienne) Thompson. She is also remembered by her sisters-in-law Myrt Lillejord and Judy Baggett, and brother-in-law Bill Blackwell, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley is predeceased by her husband Allan Mossing, parents Bruce and Marjorie Claffey, brother Duane Claffey, and sister Donna Ion.
Shirley lived a wonderful life full of music and laughter and was loved deeply by all who knew her.
She will be forever in our hearts.
