Shirley Pauline Wigeland

Shirley is survived by her children; Debbie, Erik (Linda), Shelley (Kim), Gregg, and son-in-law Les, her sisters; Marguerite and Marlene -who recently spent valuable time together. We are so grateful for their reunion. Cherished grandchildren; Jeff, Julie, Kimberley, Erika, Michael, Steve, Caitlyn, Toni, Jaymie, and Wylder, great-grandchildren; Rosemary, Summer, Alice, JayCee, Kane, Noah, Bentlee, and Brodie, as well as nieces, nephews and friends. She bragged to everyone about you all, and loved you all so much!

She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years; Rick, her daughter; Robin, parents; Paul and Olive, siblings; Russ, Ralph, Wes, Leona, and Keith, and sons-in-law; Keith and Leo.

Always known for her high-end fashion style, living in 4 provinces in Canada, and her travels with herself, spouse, family and friends, when asked her nationality, our Mom would say Canadian.

Shirley was the Supervisor – UMA Engineering File Room and Library. Mom had many great memories from there that she shared with us. Mom curled with the Army and Navy, of which she also loved to watch all the games. Mom was a great ballroom, jig, country and line-dancer. She was even in parades with the Line-dancers group in Abbotsford. Mom was the President and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary in Abbotsford, BC. Many memorable times she had with them including volunteering with the Poppy Fund for supporting our veterans. Mom spent a lot of her weekends with Dad at the Baseball tournaments he was scouting at in Grand Forks. Mom loved the theater, stage west, and was always opened to going out dancing with us; like the Ranchman’s Country Bar.

She loved being with family and friends. Always open to learning something new. Mom was a Rock, not selfish at all! Mom would say “Don’t let other peoples’ stuff get to you, I never stress out!” She said she loved everyone who she met with.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the early summer, with family and friends. Donations may be made to the Poppy Fund.
