Stephen Thomas Munns

Stephen was born in Cobourg, ON, on January 21, 1988, and eventually he made his way to Calgary, AB.

He graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with a degree in Construction. Stephen was passionate about using his skills to create and restore projects around the city and was always working on a project around the house. He was very proud of the work he did restoring parts of the James Short Cupola building in downtown Calgary. Stephen was over the moon that he would get to work on that building again later this year.

Stephen met the love of his life, Ivee in 2021. Together they shared countless joys, sweet texts and laughs, and always supported each other. Coming home to each other was what they looked forward to every day.

He was a member of Kings of Heart and cherished the friendships and experiences he made there. He accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of getting promoted to S1 division and organizing the Head Smashed In overnighter retreat.

Stephen loved being outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, and shooting his BB guns, but being with Ivee and their beloved dogs Lilly and Bebe was his favourite place.

One of Stephen’s favourite quotes was “If you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything”. – Malcolm X

It represented his strength and will to always stand for what is right.

He will be most remembered for his kind heart, sense of humor, spirit for adventure, and love and loyalty to his family and friends.

Stephen is survived by his mother Karen, his father Ron, sister Brianna, his wife Ivee, father-in-law Venancio, mother-in-law Imelda, and sister-in-law Avigael (Nick). He is also remembered by his grandparents, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium (12700 Macleod Trail Calgary, AB) on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at South Calgary Funeral Centre and Crematorium (12700 Macleod Trail Calgary, AB) on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 2:30 p.m.
